Nathan's Ancestors

While wandering around Connecticut trying to find Nathan's ancestors, we stopped at Fort Griswold. We found out that many of the Avery's fought here.

Close to the fort is the home of Ebenezer Avery. It was used as a hospital during the revolutionary war. Annabelle and Nathan posed by it.

We also stopped at a monument that marked the original home of James Avery (the one who came over from England).

After much meandering, we finally found the Avery-Morgan cemetery...

Annabelle was really happy to be out of the car!

On our way through Newport we went mansion hunting. The houses there are HUGE and beautiful. The country club house is beautiful but the greens looked pretty ragged.
